A desirable WW2 Remington Rand Model 1911A1 US Army pistol, dating from 1943 and chambered in .45 ACP, with a 5-inch barrel.

This wartime example retains its original parkerised finish, with the frame correctly marked “US PROPERTY” and “M1911A1 US ARMY”. It features the classic military configuration, including the characteristic grip safety, chequered brown grip panels and lanyard loop.

The pistol is accompanied by a period 7-shot magazine and a brown leather US-marked holster, itself marked TEXTAN, making for a particularly attractive period package.

Remington Rand was one of the principal manufacturers of the M1911A1 during the Second World War, and surviving wartime examples remain highly desirable amongst collectors of US military firearms.

This example also benefits from a current Certificate of Proof and is offered as suitable for the appropriate Section 7(3) or Section 5 route, subject to the purchaser holding the necessary authority.

A lovely example of the iconic US Army M1911A1, combining its 1943 wartime manufacture, original finish and desirable period accessories.
