A highly interesting 1912-dated Erfurt Arsenal Model P08 Luger pistol, chambered in 9mm and featuring a 4-inch barrel, original military configuration and particularly desirable Imperial German regimental markings.

The pistol is dated 1912 at the breech and carries the distinctive ERFURT arsenal signature to the top of the toggle. It features a ramp foresight and notched rear sight and retains its attractive original blued finish, complemented by traditional chequered walnut grip panels.

Of particular historical interest is the marking “4.R.10.7” to the front strap. This represents an Imperial German Army unit marking, indicating the 4th Infantry Regiment, 10th Company, weapon/pistol No. 7. The standard “R” designation denotes a regular infantry regiment, giving this pistol a particularly interesting military association and making WW1 service highly plausible.

Another major attraction is that the pistol displays matching numbers throughout, including its wood-based magazine – a particularly desirable feature for collectors of original Imperial German Lugers.

The pistol is supplied with a current Certificate of Proof and also comes with what appears to be a WW2-era Spanish holster.

A fascinating early military P08 combining 1912 Erfurt manufacture, matching numbers and identifiable Imperial German regimental markings.
