A lovely WW2 Remington Rand Model 1911A1 US Army pistol, dating from 1944 and chambered in .45 ACP, retaining its attractive original phosphated military finish.

This wartime example features the classic M1911A1 military configuration, including the characteristic grip safety, brown chequered grip panels and lanyard ring. The pistol is correctly marked “M1911A1 US ARMY” and “UNITED STATES PROPERTY”, providing the unmistakable appearance of an original Second World War US service pistol.

Of additional interest, the pistol bears the F.J.A. inspection marking of Frank J. Atwood, the US Army inspector associated with wartime Remington Rand M1911A1 production.

The pistol is complete with a 7-shot magazine, marked “19200” over “ASSY 5508694” over “MFR1M291”, and is also supplied with a black leather US-marked holster bearing Bucheimer maker markings.

The bore is described as excellent, further enhancing what is already a particularly attractive wartime example from the desirable Remington Rand production.

A lovely 1944-dated M1911A1 package complete with magazine and US holster, offered for the appropriate Section 7(3) or Section 5 authority.
