SKU: F509
A rare and highly desirable Lee Enfield ‘Enforcer’ 7.62mm Police Marksman’s Rifle, serial number 409, presented in very tidy, unadulterated and original condition.
This right-handed example retains its matching and original action, bolt, magazine and forend, together with the distinctive original ‘Monte-Carlo’ butt and Parker-Hale recoil pad. It is fitted with the correct 1" Pecar 4-10 variable telescopic sight, mounted in the appropriate RAHS 4 rings, along with a Parker-Hale PH564 target sight.
The barrel is described as good and has been assessed by renowned Enfield gunsmith Richard Stork, adding further confidence to the condition and authenticity of this particular example.
Only 518 Enforcer rifles were manufactured by RSAF Enfield for issue to UK Police Forces. Of those, it is understood that approximately half were subsequently destroyed by their respective forces rather than being released onto the civilian market following the end of their service lives, contributing to the scarcity of surviving examples today.
This particular rifle also benefits from excellent documented provenance. Enforcer No. 409 was despatched to Devon and Cornwall Police on 7th June 1974, where it formed part of the generation of specialist British Police marksman rifles associated with the 1970s and 1980s.
A particularly appealing opportunity to acquire a very tidy, unaltered and all-original Enforcer with known Police provenance, retaining the correct period optics, sights and furniture.
