A superb Enfield Envoy, issued for the 1970 International Palma Match Shooting Competition.

At the time, the host country supplied rifles to all competitors. In 1970, the competition was hosted at Bisley, and Fultons Gunsmith set up the competition rifles. Each one was engraved and competitors could purchase their rifle at the end of the match. Great Britain won the match in 1970.

The Enfield Envoy is the civilian version of the L39A1. Stocked using No.8 forend and handguard with the Envoy specific butt.

An Enfield hammer forged heavy target barrel was fitted to a No.4 MK2 Action.

Only 66 of these Palma Match Rifles were built. This particular rifle was shipped to Fultons on 24th April 1970 as part of batch PQ3.

The rifle has matching numbered receiver, butt and magazine and is fitted with a Parker Hale PH5C rear sight.

This is a real piece of Enfield history and a brilliant addition to any collection.

Collection from Gosport, Hampshire.
