AKB-23 UK Straight Pull SA80 / L85A1 Style Rifle – .223 Wylde
The first – and potentially only – UK Straight Pull specification AKB-23 rifles from Aly & Kaufmann LLC.
G-TEN has been working closely with Aly & Kaufmann LLC (USA) for over a year to produce a UK-specific version of the AKB-23.
These rifles have been specially manufactured without gas ports and feature a dedicated L98-style straight-pull cocking system developed by A&K specifically for this project.
The result is an exceptionally well-made straight-pull rifle which captures the look and feel of the SA80 platform. While the AKB-23 is not an exact L98A1 replica, it is an extremely convincing clone with outstanding quality and workmanship.
With genuine and increasingly rare L98A1 rifles now commanding prices of £25,000+, they have become unobtainable for many shooters and collectors.
The AKB-23 Straight Pull provides a fantastic alternative at a fraction of the cost.
Specification
Built around a BRN-180 Gen 2 upper receiver, the UK-specification AKB-23 features:
- .223 Wylde chamber
- 18.5” barrel
- 1:8 twist
- UK-specific straight-pull action
- Manufactured without a gas port/system
- Dedicated L98-style cocking system
- SA80-style bullpup configuration
- Upgraded two-stage trigger
- Authentic L85A1-style flash hider
- Flash hider accepts an original SA80/L85 bayonet
- Sandbox prototype SA80 butt pad
- Full-length Picatinny top rail
The Picatinny top rail allows the use of standard Picatinny scope mounts or the A&K iron sights, which are based on the original L85A1 iron sights and are available separately.
0.5” Picatinny risers are also available.
SUSAT adaptors are expected to be available within the next two weeks.
Extremely Limited Availability
Getting these rifles manufactured specifically for the UK market and subsequently exported was a lengthy process and required G-TEN to commit to a minimum order of 25 rifles.
Following fulfilment of our pre-orders, only the final few rifles from this batch remain available for general sale.
The likelihood of us purchasing another batch is currently slim. Even if sufficient demand exists, we would need to secure approximately 20 pre-orders to make another production run viable, with significant manufacturing and export lead times involved.
If you want an AKB-23, we strongly recommend purchasing from the remaining rifles in this batch rather than relying on another batch becoming available.

These rifles are available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
To purchase, you must already have an open variation for a .223 or 5.56 rifle on your Firearm Certificate.

If you are successful, you must pay in full within 24 hours of being notified to secure the rifle due to the amount of interest we have received.
We cannot hold rifles without payment.
