SKU: F291
A fine example of an early Savage No.4 MK1 (No Star) .303 Rifle, manufactured in 1942 under the Lend-Lease programme, retaining original features and markings.
Serial Number: 5C7995 – confirming this rifle as the 57,995th Savage made. Savage only produced approximately 150,000 MK1 rifles before transitioning to the simplified MK1* pattern, making this a scarce and desirable early-production example.
The rifle features a 1942-dated receiver with a matching bolt, fitted with a correct Savage-marked MK1 rearsight. It is stocked in lovely dark walnut woodwork, adding both aesthetic appeal and historical authenticity.
As expected for a Lend-Lease rifle, the receiver bears clear “U.S. PROPERTY” markings, confirming its origins. The barrel is a 5-groove service replacement, dated 1944, gauging at 0.30275, which remains within excellent shooting tolerances.
Supplied complete with a web sling, this is both a collectible and shootable Savage Enfield.
