A rare Lee-Enfield LEC Mk1, originally manufactured in 1900 by Lee-Enfield, and subsequently converted from Carbine to SMLE configuration.
This rifle retains its Queen Victoria cypher, placing it firmly within the pre-Edwardian era and making it an excellent example of early Lee-Enfield production. The serial number (20616) is matched to the bolt, adding to its collector appeal.
Bolt-mounted safety catch and absence of a charger bridge. The rifle is fitted with a windage-adjustable rear sight.
The barrel gauges at .30475”, comfortably within tolerance, indicating a well-preserved bore for its age.
This example is supplied without a magazine and is offered in overall condition as per photos. A superb opportunity to acquire a rare converted Mk1 Carbine to SMLE, ideal for collectors of early British military rifles.
